Our favorite place when in Pigeon Forge! I love the fried chicken and my husband loves the catfish The Vittles are sooo yummie!!! And did I mention the fried pickles are a must?!

Definitely not bad food. I enjoy that any meal is served with an appetizer of "vittles" i.e. sides - crispy but underseasoned hushpuppies, pickles slices, sliced onions (why?), creamy sweet and slightly peppery slaw (I liked it), and some country-style northern (white) beans with ham. I also enjoyed the large ball jar glasses... I only needed one refill (which for me isn't bad... I'm notorious for getting 3-4 at a time. For my entree, I chose The Mark Twain - two catfish filets and fried chicken (I believe it was a thigh). The catfish was tasty and complimented their tartar sauce very well. It seemed a bit dry and underseasoned without it... The tartar sauce was almost a necessity. The chicken itself was delicious. Flaky skin, tender meat, greasy deliciousness. The mashed potatoes with country gray were a nice touch. I appreciated that they left the skins in... Just like we do at home. Not the greatest food in the world, but it was good. Service was also good, and even though the parking lot was packed, we were seated immediately! The gift shop was also a hoot! There might be better choices, but this is definitely one I would consider visiting again.

I now have a true catfish shack in this area! The feel is that of a laid back fish camp with plenty of tables, live music, and friendly servers. While they serve all you can eat catfish and chicken tenders, there's several dishes from which to choose. But the catfish! Wow. Epic delish! Mississippi pond-raised and grain-fed, this is the best catfish you'll eat!

  • Lori W.

Been coming here for years, before Yelp came along, and love it everytime I come here. They have live music here tonight from a local guy with a guitar. He has been here once before. All you can eat boneless catfish filets. I like and ordered the bone-in filets, gotta have the bone!!! Wish they had those bone -in filets all you can eat, but they changed that years ago. Nice and fresh, hot catfish!!! Love it!! If ya want great catfish, you found it!!

Came here on Labor Day, and it wasn't too busy for lunch. The server was attentive and nice and we didn't have to ask for anything. The seasoned catfish was okay, but pretty bland for my taste (considering it was billed as "seasoned"). My wife has the fish and chips which had the consistency of fried chicken. We didn't complain, but honestly told our server we didn't enjoy it and she immediately took it off. The side dishes were all good and all you can eat. The price was reasonable. Overall, despite awesome service the restaurant gets two stars because there was nothing special.

I was very disappointed, the food was to greasy for me,the fish was bland, not to much seasoning...and sense it's all about the fish,I was disappointed..would I come here again? No..

Ok! If you love country food , you will leave stuff! Catfish a tad over cooked but good! Mashed potatoes with skin on good . The vittles excellent ! All I need is beans and hush puppies !trout big portions and tasty ! Alligator taste like chicken and plenty of it ! I left stuffed ! Prices are reasonable and love the tea glasses! 9:00 on a Wednesday and still busy!

Ugh. I can't believe the 4 & 5* reviews. I was really excited about going here after reading the reviews. I grew up eating catfish & fried chicken in the deep south. I was very disappointed. Huck's fish & chicken is awful. I ordered the all you can eat chicken & catfish. The chicken was two small drumsticks and a scrawny thigh. It was very greasy (not in a good way); the meat was very dark indicating it probably was frozen prior to frying. Not good. I LOVE good fried catfish but the fish I was served was a major disappointment. Three very small fillets in a too salty cornmeal batter. The meat was squishy and didn't taste very good. Even the fries were soggy and tasted like old grease. The best part of the vittles were the white beans. I love hush puppies, but these were dry and not very flavorful; no butter offered. The sweet tea was good and my waitress was swift and sweet. That's the best thing I can say.

  • Sarah S.

I wanted to like this place. Cute decor, the stuff they bring to the table to start was really yummy. I loved the white beans, reminded me of the ham and bean soup my mom made growing up. The slaw and hush puppies were fantastic. That's about where the goodness ended. I did not care for the catfish. It was breaded with too much cornmeal. Was too fishy for my taste. My daughter got the popcorn shrimp and wouldn't eat it. To me it tasted like long john silvers. Our server was super sweet though. My clothes reeked of grease when I got home.

This place is over rated 100%! Nothing special about it whatsoever. Service was poor and they bring out fixings of navy beans, slaw, onion and pickles wether you want it or not, huge waste of food! You get way better fish at golden corral and the chicken has nothing on kfc or bojangles

  • Chris S.

Again, I'm tempering my review based on eating all around the world. This place is probably a 4 star for the 'Panama City of the Mountains' but I'm holding them to a higher standard. So you order a main dish and get what are called vitties. It includes cole slaw, white beans cooked enough bacon to make you hate yourself if you look in the mirror and hush puppies. White beans were really good, slaw was good and the hush puppies I'm pretty sure were laced with meth and the tears of virgins. They were all really solid. I went for the Gator which was kind of disappointing. Of course it was fried but the pieces were small and each piece felt like it was 50% breading to 50% meat. Pretty underwhelming. Service was ok. Nothing to write home about there were a few times we were waiting for her to make rounds. I don't know if places get better than this joint but I left wanting a bit more.

Good solid food! Good catfish, good fried chicken all the way to good hush puppies! Corn nuggets were very good. Banana pudding needs some help so skip that. Nice place to eat dinner.

  • Kirsten A.

Yummy, but forgettable. The food tasted good. It was weird that the Vittles -- the "sides" of hush puppies, beans and cole slaw -- came before the meal. But that kept the kids happy, so I guess that was a bonus for us. Still weird, though. We all had fish and were happy with our selection. The atmosphere was OK. I don't regret eating here, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

We stopped for dinner while traveling across the state. The large dining area is casual and comfortable and has live music in the evenings. The food is down home style and delicious. While many restaurants bring out hot bread and dinner rolls this one brings out vittles - white beans with turkey ham, Chile slaw and amazing hush puppies! I selected the all you can eat chicken/catfish combo with mashed potatoes. It was served steaming hot and the meat was juicy and tender. Desserts looked tempting but I was too full and satisfied to try them. Maybe next time. The wait staff was attentive and the employees in general were friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant.

So went in expecting great catfish since it is called catfish place, well it was ok. So what I didn't expect was as son as we sat down we got vittles. Then a large mason jar of tea it was darn good tea. The vittles were awesome, the coleslaw was darn good I could have just had that and the beyond delicious hushpuppies. I ordered fried chicken breast and the husband got the fried catfish..the chicken breast was awesome, the catfish was ok said the husband. He said he should have gotten the chicken. But the banana pudding was so good we were full bit could not stop ourselves from eating it all. The service was super awesome but we were the only table that she had so we got all her attention.

  • Kevin P.

It's been 10 years since I'd eaten here, and the food is still the really good - but it's nothing close to what it used to be. The service was not bad, but it was inattentive. The oil for the fryers needed to be changed, and the place needed to be cleaned up and restored to its rightful position as one of my favorite restaurants. If you've been here before and loved it don't by any means skip out on it, it's still a score--it's just nowhere near what it used to be.

We walked right in with a party of 18. Staff was very attentive and friendly. There was live music and is was at a very comfortable volume. I had the fish and chips. The fish was some of the best fried fish I have ever had. Every table gets viddles. Try it all.

  • Tina F.

Great food. Great Value. Great service. The food was cooked to perfection. Fried chicken was moist and juicy. My mom said the beans were "almost" as good as hers. Hush puppies were delish! Mashed potatoes and coleslaw were just so-so. $7.99 lunch specials - plenty of food to fill you up. We've been for dinner before too, and the same is true at dinner. Our server was very good. He kept the drinks and the all-you-can eat sides filled. We've eaten there before. We'll eat there again.

  • Randy J.

Not the kind of place you want to go for grilled anything even though I had some grilled trout. The grilled trout was a about average to me. The amount of food you get is a little overwhelming. We had a party about 9 people and the service was quick and friendly. The food was pretty good and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals.

We were visiting pigeon Forge in the beginning of season so there were a lot of people around. We were looking for restaurant that would be open coming back late from Gatlinburg and stop to Huck Finn's. We very much enjoyed our experience. The cat fish was excellent the fried chicken is very good but I believe that there vittles were our favorite part. The white beans and ham were excellent. The coleslaw was really good also and I'm really picky about coleslaw. One suggestion, for those with a regular appetite the unlimited fish and chicken was more than you would ever want. In addition the catfish was so good I think I just skip the chicken. Will definitely be back is this is one of our new favorites.

Really yummy and HELLO Vittles!! This was great home cooking and plenty to eat. The fried chicken was so hot and juicy. My husband loved his catfish. The hush puppies and coleslaw were good. Yum yum!

We always stop by Hick Finns when we are in Pigeon Forge. I usually get the vittles which are delish! This time my husband ordered the chicken livers. They were so good that he took his left overs to our hotel for lunch the next day!

    (4)
  • Tim T.

Great food and service! The vittles are amazing. Hush puppies for days!! Been here twice this week. Had the grilled shrimp with spicy seasoning, very good. Had the Clam Strips the other day which were not disappointing. Service was awesome. Waitress was very attentive but not hovering. Both times I didn't have room for a dessert. Hopefully next time we visit the area. A must place to eat a good Southern meal.

  • Tressa L.

Would get a better review from us if our waitress wasn't so crappy. Nice quaint menu,, endless sides, an all you can eat section on the menu, large portions, tasty moist catfish , nice decorations and very well balanced sound on the live music. ... However, the sides are not sides that I am personally interested in and they were just OK , the fried pickles were very salty( for my family 's taste, I liked them), mashed potatoes were instant, fries were plain, and the seats were way too close to other people's seats. All in all it is an OK place to eat, but our virtually untouched table of unfinished "bottomless sides " spoke for itself. And our waitress needed to be fired.

This review is from 2/20/2012. I came here on President's Day around noon. The place is very nice. Has a cool "old-school" vibe to it. I ordered Gator Tail, and it was fabulous. I also enjoyed the hush puppies and white beans a great deal, also. Generous portions for a good price. The place wasn't very busy when I was there, so it was sort of quiet. There's a lot of seating here, so I'm sure it gets much more crowded during peak tourist season. I would certainly recommend this restaurant for seafood fans.

    (4)
  • D W.

Awesome southern food! Loved the catfish and gator tail. My only complaint was that I had to pay for the fixings (or whatever you called them) along with my more modest order as I didn't want to eat myself into oblivion, and it cost nearly as much as the other meals cost. Anyway, not a discount restaurant by any means, but well worth it.

  • Noelle T.

Ohhh Yelp, you led me astray. This place would be awesome in the Winter when I feel like clogging my arteries. They don't have any vegetables. Seriously. No salad, no veggies, nada. My husband got the catfish and it was good. It was not greasy at all. We all shared the vittles = hushpuppies, beans, and coleslaw. I ordered blackened grilled shrimp with green beans. It was good too but it was 3 star good. Meaning I enjoyed it but i wouldn't go back.

  • Steven L.

This is my favorite catfish restaurant. You can get all you can eat catfish and vittles. The vittles include onion, hush puppies, white beans, pickles, cole slaw and you get to choose one side. I usually get mashed potatoes and gravy. Also, get some sweet tea to go with it. This is also my favorite restaurant in the smoky mountains.

Great big seafood restaurant on the main strip in Pigeon Forge. This place is huge and has plenty of room for big families. Lots of fried fish, shrimp and some chicken too. The sides were all really good. Kind of reminds me of a Lambert's the way they bring you all the extra "country fixins". You will not go away from here hungry! Of course everyone was super nice and had that southern hospitality down pat.

  • Ammar A.

I did not like the grilled fish also the fries were too much cooked !!

    (1)
  • Jim C.

Excellent catfish and generous portions of beans, slaw and hush puppies. There's often a wait at night and on weekends but it's well worth the time. You can't go wrong with the place or the all you an eat catfish. The fish is thoroughly cooked and isn't overly crispy.

  • Chris D.

Family ate here on a Sunday night. It was a slow night for them but welcomed for us as our 1 year old was fussy. The staff was pleasant and understanding. The sides that automatically come to the table were decent. Hush puppies were the best side. My wife had Fish and Chips and I had the AYCE fried chicken, my daughter had chicken tenders. All in all it was a good and satisfying meal. Also the sweet tea was really good.

  • Jarina K.

Very good chicken and catfish. I had all you can eat but couldn't eat but one plate. Slaw and beans were good as well.

$19 for tasteless, season-less gator. Hush puppies were the best part by far. I'm only visiting, but wouldn't return if I come back to the area. they say they're known for their gator but I can get better gator at Bass Pro Shop's restaurant back home in Indiana. save your $20!

I absolutely loved this place! It's a cute little southern themed restaurant with delicious food! I came here with my family and we all loved our meals and were very satisfied with the service. They serve drinks in huge mason jars...I had the sweet tea which is a MUST have. Before you even get your meals they bring out the "vittles" which are like little appetizers that consisted of really good pickles, hush puppies, cole slaw, and some kind of bean soup. I had the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes for my entrée. You get to choose between potatoes or fries, the potatoes were yummy! The chicken tenders were also great. They tasted like they were hand battered and perfectly seasoned before being fried. Overall I would say this restaurant is definitely worth visiting if you're in the smokies!

The service is great. Food is good. Slaw & hush puppies my favorites. The fried chicken very crispy. The cat fish is good. It is definitely a place to go for good food.

The restaurant has old-all-wooden theme which is very cute and helps feel that one is on vacation. We had hush puppies, bottomless beans, fried chicken and grilled catfish. Everything was good. They serve drinks in big jars, pretty cool. Very friendly service. We would definitely visit the place again once we are in town.

OH MY GOOOOOODNESS!!!!!! Huck Finn's has got it going on BIG TIME!! I enjoyed the decor and vibes of this place along with their grilled trout...a MUST have!! I don't eat pork and appreciated that their white gravy was porkless and not made with pork. Prior to the meal I was served what they call "vittles". It is basically sides/garnishes for your meal. Vittles include: white beans with pork (I didn't eat.), onion/dill pickles, cole slaw and hush puppies. My first time having hush puppies and they are amazing!!!!! Warm and sweet with a corn flavor YUM!. I will miss this place. Try the GRILLED TROUT!! : Keep in mind the pictures that are posted for this place doesn't give it justice. The decor is awesome and the place is clean. Some of the pics posted on the interior is deceiving. Try them out and tell me how your experience was! : )

Don't let the down-home-family-picnic vibe scare you off. This place actually has the best catfish (and alligator!) in Pigeon Forge!

Had the Chicken Fried Chicken with gravy, it was really good. The Southern Sweet Tea in the mason jar adds to the mountainous, moonshine feel. Come for the good food and great atmosphere.

I had the Catfish Sandwich, which was very fresh and was excellent! Friendly service and good side dishes and very reasonable prices. Not fine dining, but fun and casual. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

This has to have been the worst place we have ate at on our trip to date. Food was absolutely disgusting. I will never suggest this place to anyone. Not even for slop for animals. STAY AWAY!!!! Shrimp was tough and tasted like it has been frozen for 6 weeks before it was cooked. Fried green tomatoes were actually yellow. Chicken was like trying to eat cardboard. White beans out of a can and hush puppies that were at least a week old. Now I see why there were so many empty tables while we were here. Won't happen again. The only reason I have it 1 star is because I couldn't give it 0.

    (1)
  • Luckie D.

Can you say VITTLES? Well they were a pleasant addition to start the meal and let me tell you the beans are very good! I selected the grilled catfish fries and lemonade mixed w unsweet tea. The food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. As far as options for fried seafood go this place is a good choice. the rest of the group also enjoyed their selections.

  • Stacey L.

Service was excellent. Very friendly and clean. After being sat we soon had our side items that are all you can eat. Fish was tasty but because they are fresh water fish, they do tend to have a different taste than farm raised. Prices aren't too expensive. Definitely will eat here again.

  • Tom G.

The country atmosphere is fun and a breath of fresh air, the service is some of the best you will find anywhere, the food is ALWAYS delicious, the place is clean...not sure you can do any better than these guys do it. We go here often and have never had a bad experience. 10 stars!!

This is a great place to go for catfish! This popular restaurant itself is pretty big with two large dining rooms (wood floors & walls) on either side of the gift shop entrance in the center. This feels like your dining at a true Southern style family restaurant, yee-ha!! There's also outside seating under the front porch. On back wall, there's a big USA map and customers can post a color pushpin on their hometown. I'm from small town NH! The menu offerings include catfish, calabash shrimp, clam strips, chicken, frog legs, gator tail, country fried steak, fried appetizers (okra, pickles, green tomatoes, gator tail, corn nuggets), sides, and desserts. Dinner prices $8.95-$16.95. All "U" Can Eat Dinners for $14.95 plus tax such as catfish and Southern fried chicken are also offered. Unlimited Vittles (side dishes) including hush puppies, cole slaw, baked white beans with turkey ham, pickles& onions are included with all meals. Vittles by itself with no meal is $6.99. Youngin's Grub (age 4-10) menu ($3.99) is also offered, kids 0-3 eat free. Between the all you can eat dinners and the unlimited side dishes, big eater can really go to town here! After spending a long day at Dollywood, we headed over to Huck Finn's for dinner. The parking lot looked almost full around 8PM on a weeknight. The place was fairly busy inside with many families and large groups chowing down. Mario was our waiter for the evening. We started out with 2 Diet Pepsis which were served iced cold in large glass jars (Other places also serve drinks in glass jars including Lucille's and Cool Hand Luke's in CA). Next, the Vittles were brought out to the table. The hushpuppies were sooo good, which were lightly deep fried, packed with sweet onions and sweet corn meal. The cole slaw was excellent with a moist texture and a creamy and very tangy flavor. For dinner, the Fried Chicken ($12.95) was pretty decent, which were 3 big crispy pieces of breast, thigh, and a wing and served with a buttermilk biscuit. The chicken had plenty of meat, though slightly on the dry side. The Cajun Style Catfish ($12.95) served with mashed potatoes & white gravy was excellent. The 4 boneless filets were moist and juicy with the right amount of mild spices. The mashed potatoes were very good with soft texture, small potato chunks and creamy and the white gravy was creamy. The food rating was between 4 and 5 stars, but I'm rounding up because of the great service we had. The waiter was attentive and did a great job in explaining the menu to us and the courses of food were brought to us in stages. We were given several refills on the Diet Pepsi (very thirsty from being out in the humid heat all day) and given refills on some of the vittles. We went through the first batch of hushpuppies in no time and got some more to munch on. We had enough to eat between the unlimited vittles and good sized dinners, so no room for cobbler and pecan pie. WEBSITE: huckfinnsrestaurant.com

Some of the best fried chicken I've had. Nothing really dressed up about. Just fried chicken done right. The catfish is always good. Love the vittles. Bean soup is delicious. My son goes crazy for the sweet tea.

Disappointed I ate here when there were so many other choices but we stopped in on a whim because the big catfish out front looked cool and I thought they would have seafood selections. I was mistaken unless catfish is what you want. Catfish, cornbread, slaw, hushpuppies, white beans and chicken livers are the jist of it. Most everything is fried, fried and fried. Very disappointed at the menu. I won't be back.

Look no further for a place to eat. Some if the best catfish we have in a long time. The vittles were great also. We will definitely make this a must eat spot when we are in town.

  • Annie C.

I had high expectations since it got such good reviews on yelp, but alas, I shouldn't have had any expectations going in. The catfish was bland, no flavor to it whatsoever! That also goes for the fried chicken as well. There was no seasoning and didn't taste good. I will give the restaurant props for their fried chicken liver, that was really good! And their hush puppies and cole slaw, but other than that, it was unimpressive to say the least. Our waitress also didn't seem so happy to be working there as well, I wouldn't blame her. Sorry Huck Finn's!

Our family recently ate at Huck Finn's based on the reviews and gushing recommendation from the man at the front desk of our hotel. It was a last-minute decision since the restaurant we really wanted to eat at (Clint's BBQ) had recently closed down. We were expecting really good food. We were sorely disappointed. I had the fish and chips and couldn't even finish one piece of the fish. It tasted very "fishy", you know, muddy. The fries (not pub chips, like I was expecting) were just ok. My husband got the all you can eat catfish and chicken and was disappointed as well. The "vittles" were pretty good and I could have just eaten that and been fine. We had to wait some for the waitress to refill our glasses when it wasn't very crowded. We definitely won't be back. We've definitely had MUCH better food elsewhere.

As soon as we were seated they took our drink order and returned promptly with our beverages in huge Mason Jars, which the kids loved, quite delicious white beans and ham, the yummiest addictive warm hush puppies, and creamy perfectly-balanced-with-sweet-and-tart coleslaw. This alone could have been my meal. It reminded me of dinner at my grandma's. There was a very talented singer musician, who played guitar and harmonica while singing. He was great one man show. Then my entree arrived. I had the seasoned and the garlic catfish. Both were great! We also ordered fried okra, which was better than most places, and the fried sweet potato patties, which were extra flavorful. The sweet potatoes were good, but had extra cinnamon or nutmeg. My kids loved them! This was a perfect place for dinner in the Smokey Mountains. All 6 of us loved our food. We had fried chicken, chicken tenders, catfish, chicken fried steak, and grilled chicken. Entrees are served with fries or smashed potatoes and country gravy. HUGE portions! I think I will share next time. Though everyone else gobbled their food. It was that good!

I came to this place 12 years ago and it was amazing...so recently I came back to the area with a group of friends, I asked them if we could go here again since the first time was so good. I kind of built it up a little bit so I was really hoping it hadn't changed much, you know what...still amazing! The catfish is so good, very clean tasting, not muddy at all, cooked perfectly! The fried chicken is by far some of the best I have ever had, again cooked perfectly and amazing flavor! The hush puppies were a huge hit at our table and everyone was really impressed, so thanks Huck Finn's for making me look so smart! :-) Dollar for dollar one of the best deals in the area...$14 and change for all you can eat and the quality is amazing! I would definitely come back and recommend highly to anyone going to the area! Just make sure you don't eat before coming and don't fill up on those puppies, save some room for that fish and chicken!

  • Janine B.

The food was OK. The chicken tasted just like Shoney's or Ryan's. Could have gotten the same quality of food from a buffet, but much cheaper. We were told my child (& menu stated under 3) was free, but there was a charge on the bill. However, I told the cashier I was told she would be free, & she did remove the charge. The charge for our dinner was 16.00 each, & drinks are NOT included. They're an extra 2.50 each. The atmosphere was nice, there was a young lady performing acoustic. The place itself was clean, & the staff was nice. Just way too expensive.

I love this place! I always get all you can eat catfish...and try my hardest not to eat the beans and pickles while I'm waiting...just so I can eat a ton of fish! The drinks are in quart mason jars too...which is awesome!

We were shocked at how good the food was after our horrible experience the night before at the Alamo Steakhouse. Our waitress was prompt and sweet, made it even better. My husband ordered the iced tea, he said it was some of the best he had had and we are from Texas, lol. We both got the all you can eat catfish, but I asked the waitress if I could try the fried chicken (since they were the same price) and she brought me a piece and it was delicious - I liked it even better than the catfish - which was really good. Before our dinner was served, the waitress brought out hush puppies, white beans, onion, pickles, and coleslaw. I'm not a white bean fan, but I couldn't get enough of them. It had ham pieces in it and was seasoned so well. The cole slaw was very good also and I LOVED the hushpuppies. We will return for sure!

Vittles, vittles, vittles! Best Vittles I've ever had! Okay, the ONLY vittles I've ever had, but still. Vittles are hush puppies, white beans, onion, pickles, and coleslaw. Sort of like an appetizer plate or maybe side dishes. Whatever the definition of a vittle is, it definitely has the BEST hush puppies I've ever had. The beans....omg the beans. I don't even LIKE beans. And I inhaled them BOTH times we ate there. We went two days in a row. The catfish is just as delish as everyone says. Fresh and delicious. I really want some right now. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

This place was well worth the visit if you are looking a true southern atmosphere. Fountain drinks and water served in mason jars. I don't believe this place serves booze if you are looking for that. All meals come with vittles which include: Hush puppies, pickles, white beans-n-ham, cole slaw and onions. I got the grilled catfish which wasn't that great but wasn't horrible either. My wife got fried shrimp which was very good. We didn't get deserts but the ones i saw being served to other tables look excellent. On the Saturday night we were there, there was live acoustic music being place with further added to the southern experience.

Here was a good southern meal with vittles served before the main meal. Service was excellent. We had seven in our party and all meals were good to great. Decent priced meals. We would go back.

Here for a quick family vacation and wanted a good local option for Southern fried goodness. Enjoyed the "vitals" that are automatically on the table when we arrived, which included hush puppies Cole slaw and nice crisp pickles along with a few other things. I ordered the Catfish, which was slightly disappointing because of the lack of salt or seasoning, but not bad. My teenage son's fish and chips were excellent. My younger kids really enjoyed the decor and live music.

I got the all-you-can-eat catfish and my wife got the fried chicken. Both were great!! Ton of food at a decent price. The vittles were excellent too (and endless). Drinks were in a mason jars helps build on a cool southern atmosphere. Service was great too. Just a well-rounded family-friendly southern dining experience!

I hate to dole out 5's, but four does seem low for this place as I can find nothing wrong; In fact, we went there for diner two days in a row! I have been to this place as an adult and as a kid - and if memory serves me well, it was good back then! We went for catfish, really. When the waiter first comes by our table to get drink orders, he is loaded down with "vittles": Onion, pickles, slaw, great hushpuppies, and awesome beans (so awesome, that my 14 month old ate half a bowl by himself!). My fam ordered the $14 four piece filet of catfish - good size filets, mind you- and fries for the side and I got the trout and real mashed potatoes. All of which was soooo good! The second night, we all got the catfish, with different sides. No disappointment on night two. The staff was so very nice. The waitress we had the second night even went so far as to go ask the kitchen staff how they made the beans, since my son loved them so much. She came back with a recipe. As far as catfish places go, this is a 5 star for quality, pricing, friendly staff and environment.

I know this can be hit or miss, but our waitress was attentive. Service was fast... and food is reasonable for price they charge. Not bad place for being on the tourist strip.

Good food. Loved the prices and the bottomless vittles. Great kids menu.

First things first. As soon as you are seated at your table, before your drink order is even taken, you are served what Huck Fins calls "vittles." You don't ask for it, and it is not complementary. Complementary means that even if you just ask for water, it's still free. If each person in your party does not order a full meal for themselves, you're paying $8 for these "vittles." What are "vittles"? You get each of these four random "appetizers": 1) Coleslaw, 2) Hush Puppies, 3) White Beans with Turkey Ham, and 4) a slice of white onion and two pickle spears. First of all, if I don't ask for it and it's not completely free, I don't want it. Second, the selection could not be more random. Third, beans and hamhocks are a long-standing southern tradition... Turkey ham? Really? Fourth, who eats a slice of raw white onion?! Oh, and did I mention that these "vittles" are supposed to be endless?? After we ate the beans and pickle spears... no refill in sight. Okay. Forgivable, maybe. Whats next? I jokingly admit to the waitress that I am over ten years old, but would like to order the corn dog off of the kids menu. DENIED. I'm willing to pay extra. DENIED. Fine. The two of us will split the Chicken Fried Steak. "Oh, you mean the 'Country Fried Steak' or the 'Chicken Fried Chicken'?" the waitress says. "Chicken Fried Chicken "... WTF?! Are you serious?? Chicken Fried, Country Fried... I asked for steak - thank you for the correction, Shakespeare. The "Country Fried Steak" and potatoes was bland at best. I was ill for 2 days afterwards and my guest was downright sick for a full 5. Not to mention that because we split the entre we were charged for the "vittles" which we never wanted, ordered or had the chance to opt out of. We've dined from East to West, North to South, and we're FAR from hard to please in any restaurant. We eat out regularly, and even some of the divest places have been great. Save yourself the experience and go ANYWHERE else on the strip!

The restaurant is a good break from the standard restaurant layout. You eat in a big dining room that is decked out in wood. We tried the fried chicken, fried catfish, and the grilled catfish. It was all pretty good. Fries were good too. I liked the 'vittles' but my husband and son didn't care for them.

This place is excellent! The vittles are wonderful the catfish is great and so is the fried chicken but my favorite is the fried pickles! I live in Florida and it is almost worth a weekend trip just for the fried pickles! U just can't find em any where like Huck Finn's! Deffinately worth a visit if u like southern cooking! When I was pregnant I wanted to fly there for the weekend just for the pickles. In fact when our little one was 4months old we made the trip for Easter and ate there as much as we could that week.

Excellent catfish and chicken. Unfortunately they were out of gator bites which is really what I wanted to try. Portions are large and the sweet tea is great!

Grilled catfish was GREAT! The TN grilling seasoning on it was very flavorful. Definatelt recommend this place.

Tasty food, be sure to try grilled catfish. All you can eat vittles are nice too. A little pricey, though, if you order from the non-all-you-can-eat menu...

This place really doesn't need more 5 star reviews, but my wife and I were there a few nights ago and really enjoyed our meal. I had the all you can eat chicken which I thoroughly enjoyed moist and PERFECTLY SEASONED. If you are looking for KFC chicken go there, but this is way better. My wife had the half pound of shrimp - excellent - lightly breaded and seasoned . The vittels were a nice surprise and the peach cobbler with ice cream was excellent - a nice change from the blackberry cobbler so many of the restaurants seem to offer. Wish there was a Huck Finns in Illinois. And I shouldn't forget our waitress - pleasant and great service.

When looking for a place to eat in this area remember you are in a tourist trap of a city. So, you will probably be eating at places you would never dream if eating at home. Using that as a frame if reference here goes; starters; cole slaw A, hush puppies A, all others C-. Main dishes fish A+, chicken B+, mashed potatoes A-, fries D. People watching A+

Wonderful jars of ice tea and diet coke...that is where the positive review ends. Shrimp was undercooked and spoiled...the servers were polite but couldn't compensate for the old seafood.

We eat here every time we come to pigeon forge. The fixens are the best I always eat too much and regret it! It is a little over priced just b/c you are in a tourist town but the portions are huge.

What a great experience. My husband, son & myself are on our first trip to The Smokies. We researched restaurants & tried this one out for lunch. Everything was great, from the service to buying T-shirts in our way out the door. We were seated immediately and within less than a minute were greeted by our server with some very good bottles. I never got our waiters name although I meant to. He was top notch. My husband said that was saying alot coming from me (a past server, bartender and manager of several well-known restaurants in Virginia and North Carolina. The food was yummy. Southern comfort food just like my grandmother would cook. I don't normally write a review for anything but felt compelled to since we left so happy.

More like fried fast food style. Picnic decor. Food was ok but I would rather eat at home and save a couple bucks.

Loved it. They bring you fresh hush puppies, soup beans and ham, pickles and great Cole slaw to start your dinner. Sweet tea served in big Mason Jars was a southern touch. The catfish is so good...just awesome. Kids had the fried chicken and mashed potatoes...very tasty. Highly recommended!

If you like catfish, this is the place to go. All you can eat fillets or whole! That's what I'm talking about.

We went here with a large group and they could easily seat us quickly. The food was pretty good, though they fill you up on the "vittles" which aren't all that great. The fried chicken was a lot better than the cat fish which seemed to have a funky taste to it. Prices were somewhat steep considering what you got, but not criminal. It is a resort town after all.

We ate here for our dinner meal. It was ok, nothing to write home about. The sweet tea was a hit at our table. The service was just average, as was the food. Probably would try somewhere different next time. And the guy playing his guitar at the place---dude, UGA just beat Tennessee--why are we hearing Rocky Top over dinner? C'mon man!??!
